Use
the traditional drop down menus and navigate to GpsData or click on the
GPS Icon in Program SetUp to bring up the Gps interface. After
establishing a physical connection with a Gps Device, you can cycle through the
drop down list of Com Ports to find one available for your computer and then
click on the 'Open' Port Button.
You can Resize the GpsData Form. Just drag the borders and make it as large or small as you like. After resizing, you can place it in an out of the way area of your desktop where it can be available as a stand alone Navigational Viewer.
Make GpsData available to Bosun's Log Books by placing a checkmark in the Link Box on the GpsData Form. To do this, first click on the 'Close' Port button, place the checkmark in the Link Box and click the 'Open' Port Button again.
If you wish, bring up the 'Vessel Position and Course Data' form in Program SetUp and notice the related Navigation Data is identical to that of the Gps Device. The data fields are also identical in shade and color. Now, when you perform data entry in Bosun's Watch Logs, Travel Logs, and Bosun's Waypoint Logs, the related Navigation data will be in real time.
